🇲🇾 Malaysia

Nationwide (federal) holidays for Malaysia; state-specific holidays are not included. Sarawak does not observe Deepavali, and replacement-day practice differs in states with Friday–Saturday weekends. Islamic holiday dates are subject to official confirmation.

🇰🇷 South Korea

Official public holidays, including the nationwide local election day (3 June 2026). Workers' Day (1 May) is a paid day off for many private-sector employees but not an official public holiday.

🇵🇭 Philippines

Regular holidays and special non-working days under Proclamation No. 1006. Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha are declared in separate proclamations once confirmed and are not yet included; 25 February (EDSA anniversary) is a special working day.

🇳🇱 Netherlands

Official public holidays (officiële feestdagen) per the Government of the Netherlands. Good Friday and Liberation Day are official holidays but not guaranteed days off — that depends on the collective agreement (CAO). Holidays falling on a weekend are not moved.

🇮🇹 Italy

🇪🇸 Spain

National holidays from the official 2026 labour calendar published in the BOE. Each autonomous community adds regional holidays up to 14 days per locality, and may move a Sunday holiday to the following Monday.

Nationwide public holidays under the Holidays Act 2003. When certain holidays fall on a weekend they are Mondayised for employees who would not otherwise work that day. Regional anniversary days are not included.

Statutory public holidays under Article 112 of the Labor Code, per the 2026 schedule announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Public-sector swap days (such as Monday 31 August, worked back on Saturday 22 August) are not included.

🇨🇳 China

Statutory holidays and additional adjusted rest days per the State Council's 2026 holiday arrangement. Six weekend days are swapped working days (Sun 4 Jan, Sat 14 Feb, Sat 28 Feb, Sat 9 May, Sun 20 Sep, Sat 10 Oct) and are not marked on this calendar.

🇰🇭 Cambodia

Official public holidays under the Royal Government's annual sub-decree (No. 167 ANKr.BK for 2026). Since the 2021 Labour Law amendment, holidays falling on a Sunday are no longer substituted on Monday.

🇲🇲 Myanmar

Gazetted public holidays under the Office Holidays and Negotiable Instruments Act, per the Ministry of Labour's 2026 notification. Eid al-Adha and Deepavali are declared separately once confirmed and are not yet included. Weekend holidays are not substituted.

🇹🇭 Thailand

Combined nationwide list from the Cabinet and Bank of Thailand announcements. National Labour Day (1 May) applies to the private sector and banks but not government offices; the Royal Ploughing Ceremony (11 May) and Buddhist Lent Day (30 July) are government holidays only. The Bangkok-only special holiday on 16 October (IMF/World Bank meetings) is not included.

🇮🇳 India

The 17 gazetted (closed) holidays for central government offices in Delhi, per the DoPT's annual office memorandum. Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti are the three national holidays. Islamic holiday dates are subject to moon sighting; each state publishes its own holiday list.

🇮🇪 Ireland

The ten statutory public holidays under the Organisation of Working Time Act. When a public holiday falls on a weekend, employees are entitled to an alternative day off or extra pay, but the holiday itself is not moved.

🇵🇹 Portugal

The thirteen mandatory national holidays under the Labour Code. Each municipality adds its own municipal holiday, and Carnival Tuesday is a customary discretionary day off. Holidays falling on a weekend are not moved.

This calendar lists days observed in all or nearly all cantons; a few cantons skip Good Friday, Easter Monday, Whit Monday, or St Stephen's Day, and many add their own (e.g. Berchtoldstag, Corpus Christi, Geneva fast). Weekend holidays are not moved.

🇦🇪 United Arab Emirates

Unified holidays for the public and private sectors under Cabinet Resolution No. 27 of 2024. Hijri-calendar holidays (except the two Eids) may be moved to the start or end of the week; later-year Islamic dates are subject to the official circular. The UAE weekend is Saturday–Sunday.

🇹🇷 Turkey

National holidays under Law No. 2429 with the Diyanet-set Bayram dates. The Bayram eves (arife) and 28 October are statutory half-days from 13:00. Public-sector administrative leave (idari izin) declared around Kurban Bayramı 2026 is not included.

🇪🇬 Egypt

Paid public holidays as observed per the individual Prime Ministerial decrees. Since 2020, midweek national holidays are usually moved to Thursday (except the Eids and Christmas) to bridge the Friday–Saturday weekend. Second-half-2026 decrees were still pending as of mid-June.

Federal public holidays per the Cabinet Division notification, with Eid blocks as revised after moon sighting. Ashura and Eid Milad-un-Nabi remain subject to the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee's sighting. Bank holidays and the optional holidays for minority communities are not included.

🇧🇩 Bangladesh

The 2026 holiday circular grants 28 holidays (14 general + 14 executive-order), shown here as actually observed including the Eid bridge days. Ashura and Eid-e-Miladunnabi remain subject to moon sighting. Optional holidays per religious community and the hill-districts Baisabi day are not included. The weekend is Friday–Saturday.

🇿🇦 South Africa

The twelve statutory holidays under the Public Holidays Act 36 of 1994. A holiday falling on a Sunday is followed by a Monday public holiday (National Women's Day → 10 August in 2026); Saturday holidays are not substituted. The 4 November 2026 election day becomes a holiday only once formally proclaimed.

🇦🇷 Argentina

Feriados nacionales per the official government calendar, with movable holidays (Law 27.399) on their observed Monday dates. Tourist bridge days (Resolución 164/2025) are non-working days that private employers may adopt optionally. Community-specific non-working days are not included.

🇨🇱 Chile

The sixteen national feriados. Five are 'irrenunciable' in 2026 — mandatory days off for most retail workers: 1 January, 1 May, 18–19 September, and 25 December. Regional feriados are not included.

🇨🇴 Colombia

The 19 días festivos of 2026 on their observed dates — under Ley 51 de 1983 (Ley Emiliani), most religious and some civic holidays move to the following Monday. Includes the new Virgin of Chiquinquirá holiday created by Ley 2578 in June 2026.

🇷🇺 Russia

Non-working holidays under Article 112 of the Labour Code, including the New Year week and Orthodox Christmas (7 January). When a holiday falls on a weekend the rest day transfers to the next working day, and the government rearranges adjacent working days each year.

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia

Official public-sector holidays. Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha depend on the sighting of the moon and their exact dates and lengths are confirmed by official circular close to the time. Saudi Arabia observes no Gregorian or Islamic New Year holiday.
