How long is the Tết holiday in Vietnam in 2026?

The five statutory Tết days run Monday 16 to Friday 20 February 2026 (Lunar New Year's Day is Tuesday, 17 February). With the surrounding weekends, civil servants get nine consecutive days off, 14–22 February. Private employers may instead split the five days differently around Tết with at least 30 days' notice.

Why is 27 April 2026 a day off in Vietnam?

Hùng Kings' Commemoration Day (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month) falls on Sunday, 26 April 2026, so the following Monday is a substitute holiday (nghỉ bù) under the Labor Code — the only substitute day needed in 2026.
